Learning planet helps remote communities create safe, stimulating, sustainable environments where both children and adults can learn and develop new skills.
We design, co-finance and construct schools, equip them with clean energy and resources, retrain or source new teachers where needed, and supply schools with English speaking volunteers. Find out more...
We introduce re-training classes for adults, meeting spaces, commercial units, a renewable power source, IT & commmunications infrastructure, a library and free information access.
We run a variety of small to medium sized projects and are always looking for engaging volunteers, fund raisers and organisers. Find out more...
What's the goal? How do we do it?
We try to turn schools into valued, communal and commercial hubs - at the centre of village life; institutions that are designed, managed and maintained by the community that use them - able to fend for themselves, long after we leave.
Anything else?
We're currently also trying to improve household self-sufficiency by helping to introduce community run lending and micro-finance initiatives, which give even the poorest villagers opportunities to fund their own educational, social and economic development.
I love what you're doing... Tell me how I can help?
